Who is Coulter?

Coulter has extensive expertise helping individuals find hope and healing in their struggles with stress, anxiety, addiction, or feeling depressed. He has counseled and coached others in the areas of premarital and marriage counseling, parenting, and child-adolescence therapy. Through a holistic counseling approach Coulter integrates effective insights from psychology, biology, and social sciences.

His career in counseling began over 30 years ago, providing counseling services for individuals, couples, and families. He has extensive experience in both private practice, schools, as well as in church counseling centers. Along with his counseling practice, Coulter leads workshops, retreats, seminars, and supervises non-licensed personnel.

What is his expertise?

Coulter is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. During his career, he has worked at the Minirth, Meier & Byrd Clinic, McLean Bible Church and FBCA counseling centers, and private practice. He is also a retired teacher from FCPS and FCCPS school systems, where he taught IB Psychology and worked with students that had IEPs and 504s. Coulter has also developed and led programs for training in effective parenting, leadership, and marriage.

Coulter helps individuals, premarital couples, marriages, and families find lasting solutions. The purpose is to assist individuals in identifying, understanding, and resolving problems that have resulted in destructive feelings, thoughts and behaviors that interfere with a productive and satisfying life. He specializes in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, men’s issues, parenting and family therapy. He is also a member of the American Association for Christian Counselors (AACC).

Coulter enjoys spending time with his wife of over 30 years; hiking, traveling, visiting their two adult children, and volunteering with local and international ministries. He also enjoys water sports, riding his motorcycle, and good coffee.
