Who is Lindsey McRae?
Lindsey McRae is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor licensed in Virginia and North Carolina. She is a graduate of the School of Social Work at East Carolina University where she earned her Master of Social Work degree and certificate in substance abuse counseling.
Lindsey has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples. Her areas of interest include substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, military related stressors, and life adjustments. Lindsey values the therapeutic relationship and trust built with her clients and believes in being personable and authentic.

Lindsey utilizes a collaborative, compassionate and non-judgmental approach incorporating different therapeutic modalities including, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)-informed skills, motivational interviewing (MI), psychodynamic therapy, attachment-based therapy, strength-based therapy, and person centered therapy.
Lindsey recognizes each client’s individuality and tailors the treatment approach to best fit their needs. She believes in empowering clients and providing them with support and tools needed to overcome challenges and improve their overall quality of life. Lindsey is able to integrate counseling from a faith-based perspective for clients who are interested.
